Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

To begin, you can schedule a consultation by clicking the “Schedule a Consultation” button on my website. During our first session, we’ll discuss your needs, answer any questions, and determine if we’re a good fit to work together.

Most clients meet with me weekly, especially at the beginning of therapy. The frequency may change depending on your needs, progress, and goals. We will determine the best schedule for you together.

Therapy is different for everyone. Some people benefit from short-term therapy (a few months) focused on a specific issue, while others prefer long-term therapy for deeper emotional work. We will work together to determine the best approach for you.

Fees & Insurance

My session fee is $150 per hour.

Yes, I accept Kaiser, Regence, First Choice, Optum, and Tricare. If your insurance is not listed, please contact me to verify coverage.

Scheduling & Policies

I ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.

I accept credit cards, debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and electronic payments.

Therapy Process

Yes, therapy is confidential. However, there are legal exceptions, such as:

  • If you are at risk of harming yourself or others.
  • If there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult.
  • If I am court-ordered to release records.

If you would like me to share information with someone (e.g., a doctor, family member), you can sign a Release of Information form.

Therapy progress can feel subtle at first, but you may notice:

  • Feeling less overwhelmed by emotions.
  • Improved relationships and communication.
  • Feeling more in control of your responses to stress.
  • Increased self-awareness and confidence.

We will regularly check in on your goals and make adjustments as needed.

Through our work together, you will:

  • Gain more control over your emotions.
  • Set boundaries with confidence.
  • Build deeper, more authentic relationships.
  • Reconnect with yourself and make decisions that align with your values.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy helps you safely process painful experiences so they no longer have power over your present life. I use evidence-based techniques such as:

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) – Helps reframe negative beliefs from traumatic experiences.
  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy – A structured approach to facing and reducing trauma-related distress.

Unprocessed trauma can affect your daily life, relationships, and emotional well-being. Therapy helps you regain a sense of peace, empowerment, and control.

Anxiety Treatment

If you experience the following, you may have anxiety:

  • Racing thoughts or excessive worry
  • Rapid heartbeat or shortness of breath
  • Feeling on edge or restless
  • Avoiding situations due to fear
  • Trouble sleeping or focusing

I use CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and relaxation exercises to help you:

  • Understand and reframe anxious thoughts.
  • Develop coping strategies for stress.
  • Build emotional resilience and regain a sense of calm.

Relationships & Attachment

Relationships impact our emotional health. I help clients:

  • Set and maintain boundaries.
  • Identify and change unhealthy relationship patterns.
  • Develop secure, fulfilling connections.

Understanding your own needs, attachment style, and boundaries is key to making better relationship choices. Together, we will identify patterns that have led to unhealthy relationships and create a roadmap for healthier connections.

Self-Esteem & Personal Growth

Yes! Low self-esteem often stems from past experiences, self-doubt, or negative beliefs about yourself. In therapy, we will:

  • Identify and challenge self-critical thoughts.
  • Build self-acceptance and confidence.
  • Develop skills to empower you in all areas of life.
