About My Counseling

You may have many questions.

You may wonder how counseling works.

What happens?

If you have been searching for help, trying to figure out how to handle your problems, you have come to the right place!

Here are some of the areas I treat

  • Childhood trauma, or have PTSD
  • Anxiety Disorders-such as Generalized Anxiety, Panic attacks
  • Depression and other Mood disorders
  • Relationship issues-resolving conflicts, improving communications, setting boundaries

Of course, there may be other emotional or mental health issues you are facing that are not on this list.

What's the next step?

The next step is to contact me by email or 253-345-1862

We will talk about what is going on briefly in a 15-minute phone consultation. If it seems that we would be a good fit, then we will schedule our initial appointment or intake.

At the intake we will discuss in more detail what brings you in, there may be questionnaires that I ask you to fill out either before or at the appointment depending on your symptoms.

From there we begin the counseling journey. The cornerstone of effective therapy is building a safe and trusting relationship. I start where you are at, began to know you as a person, and then work on identifying your goals or the things you might want to change.

I work on helping identify skills to help manage and improve your life, your mental and emotional health so that you can feel capable and empowered. We also will work on addressing any underlying issues using a Depth approach, which takes the unconscious into account, helping build awareness and insight.
